ODESZA Announced to Headline Minus Zero Festival

ODESZA have just been announced as the first headliner of Minus Zero Festival, and it seems like they’re headlining sold out shows everywhere they go. But who are they, and how did they get so big, so fast?

Formed in 2012 at Western Washington University, ODESZA was the brainchild of two soon-to-graduate seniors, each of whom had been a bedroom producer throughout their time in college. Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight got to work right away, releasing their debut LP, Summer’s Gone, on September 5th, 2012. Their unique sound quickly gained them popularity, and they were soon opening for Pretty Lights during his 2013 tour. Their chillwave/future bass vibe was unlike almost anything heard before in the EDM scene, and it was the key to gaining popularity in today’s mainstream music culture.

ODESZA’s second full-length album, In Return, was also incredibly successful, and was accompanied by a sold out North American tour in 2014. They’ve continued to grow in popularity ever since. Most recently, they released an album titled A Moment Apart, which was also accompanied by an extensive world tour which is ongoing. With this tour they introduced some incredible production and live elements, including a beautifully choreographed drum line and wind section:

In addition to releasing game-changing music, ODESZA have been truly changing the landscape of live performance. Most recently, they’ve been nominated for two Grammy awards, Best Dance/Electronic Album, for A Moment Apart, and Best Dance Recording, for “Line of Sight.” Adding to their extensive resume, their song “Corners of the Earth” is also used by NBC in promotional materials for the 2018 Winter Olympics.

If ODESZA excites you as much as they excite us, come check them out at Minus Zero Festival, April 6th through 8th on Mt. Snow in Vermont! They’ll be joined by Rezz, Marvel Years, and more!
