Rave safe and sound with these 8 festival tips!!

Whether you’ve never been to a festival before, or you’re a seasoned raver, here are a few tips to keep you happy, healthy, safe, and dancing!

1. Drink water!

Water cures all ailments, and flushes all sorts of junk out of your system. Make sure to drink plenty of water before, during, and after the party to keep yourself feelin’ fresh, especially if it’s hot!

2. Eat (good) food!

If you’re gettin’ after it all night at a rave or festival, make sure to fuel your body with what it needs energize you for hours! Focus on eating healthy carbs like nuts, bananas, and whole grain products, as well as protein like chicken or fish. Eat good to feel good!

3. Vitamin C!

With all the people who attend a festival or a show, getting sick after a night (or weekend)(or week (you do you)) of partying is not out of the question. Washing your hands is just as important as not sharing drinks, but definitely look into picking up some Vitamin C supplements (they even have tasty, gummy versions) if you have the chance. Vitamin C boosts your immune system and helps your body process any toxins that may exist!

4. Get sleep!

We’ve all experienced those pre-show jitters the night before a big weekend.  It happens, but definitely make sure you’re getting enough sleep before the show or during a festival weekend. It might mean missing some music, but know that getting an extra hour or two of sleep one night will make it easier to keep grooving the next day!

5. Fresh batteries!

It’s never fun to lose your friends at a show and not be able to find them until the music ends. This problem can be compounded if you find that your phone is dead. Portable phone chargers can be found for as cheap as $10 online, and are easy to use in a crowd!

6. Know your limits!

Don’t be that guy or gal! Be careful who you trust, and avoid trying to push limits in a hectic environment. Sometimes, less is more and staying within your comfort zone ensures that you and your fam (who would have to take care of you) have as much fun as you possibly can!

8. Squad up!

The vast majority of people who attend these kinds of events are often the friendliest you will ever meet. If you ever feel unsafe or uncomfortable, tell your friends (or staff or other responsible partygoers) and stick with them. Power in numbers!
